How it works

How money moves through DFX Globals

We publish the full funds flow because customers and payment providers both deserve to understand exactly who does what in a cross-border payment.

The funds flow

  • 1. You create an account and complete identity verification (KYC), or business verification (KYB)
  • 2. Your transaction is screened for risk and compliance
  • 3. A quote is generated with the rate, markup and every fee itemised
  • 4. You pay using a supported payment method
  • 5. An authorised payment provider receives the funds and performs the currency conversion
  • 6. The provider pays out to your beneficiary through a supported payout rail
  • 7. The transaction is marked completed only when the provider confirms it

Who does what

DFX Globals operates the technology platform: the customer experience, verification workflow, quoting, pricing, transaction records, monitoring and support. Regulated financial activity — holding, converting and paying out funds — is performed by authorised third-party financial institutions and payment providers.

DFX Globals does not hold customer funds unless the connected provider arrangement and the applicable legal structure explicitly permit it.

Transaction tracking

  • Quote created
  • Payment initiated
  • Payment received
  • Compliance review
  • FX processing
  • Transfer submitted
  • Payout processing
  • Recipient paid
  • Completed

Estimated delivery times are not guarantees. Timing depends on the destination, the payment method, the provider and any review that may be required.

When a transaction is reviewed or rejected

Some transactions require additional review before they can proceed. If that happens we will tell you what is needed and keep the transaction visible in your account. If a transaction cannot proceed, we explain the outcome and handle any return of funds according to the refund policy and the provider's rules.
